I’d like to welcome you to Atomsk, the company website of Jamie Biesemans. Presumably you arrived here to find out a bit more about my professional background and contact information.
For the past fifteen years or so I’ve been active as a technology writer and editor for various online and print titles. Because of my experience running online and print media I occasionally perform consulting services about publishing, content strategy, and the media business. One of my strengths is that I can solve problems and can translate abstract ideas to a operational flow. When talking about websites, apps and CE usability is one of my prime concerns.
In my first decade in media I was mainly involved in reporting on information technology (b2b and b2c) and the IT business, next to testing hard- & software. Around 2003 I started systematically testing mobile devices. The last six or so years I’ve continued the focus on mobile technology, whilst at the same time making a shift towards consumer electronics and smart home devices. Which isn’t as illogical as it seems. I believe that although ‘convergence’ is an overused term, in the short term IT, audio, video, mobile and smart home will meet.
I still always test quite a lot of products, whilst staying up to date on technology and market/retail trends. Do not hesitate to contact me if you want to talk about these topics.
Currently I’m the editor in chief of FWD Magazine, the Belgian member of EISA in the Expert Groups for Hi-Fi, Home Theatre Video & Display, and Home Theatre Audio. FWD Magazine is published by Xingo Invest, based in the Netherlands, and is published in the Benelux.
Besides this I work as a regular contributor for EOS Magazine and Mediazine, the in-store magazine of Mediamarkt. On an ad hoc basis I take on temporary editorial and content marketing projects, in as far as time permits.
I’m also the co-founder of a CE-advisory startup called Reference Frame. More information at referenceframe.eu.
On a personal note I’m an avid music lover – just about all genres – and own way too many headphones and related gear. I’m afraid headfi is an addiction.
